Inspirational as ever, and you will inspire me to go, if not to the golf course, then at least to the island. I have a loose connection. My dad regularly holidayed there in the 1930s and I am now wondering if the caption to his image, "Edge of Desert", was golf inspired - almost certainly not, but I will pretend it was:

Good article Richard. You may be interested that only just over 300 of the UK’s golf courses welcome dogs.My sister in law is a member at Swinley and she persuaded a young man who had just arrived at the club without a dog that he could hire one from the professional as they were a requisite if one was to play.Best wishes Christopher Grievson.

Thanks for a great piece of writing about my club and really pleased the golfing experience was more than you expected and a golfing memory to treasure.

Thanks for your great piece Richard. As a member it's always good to know how much our place and its architectural heritage is appreciated by others. And as far as bells are concerned, there definitely aren't many better golf course bells than Warden's Bell.
