Overlooking the 18th at Sunningdale GC, as I now do, I am so much more aware of the efforts the green staff put in from before the crack of sparrows …… 👏🏻this is an article very golfer should read!

This is such a superlative (and encouraging) piece.

Surely no golfer would not repair a pitchmark after reading it....

Brilliant again Richard!! I knew you were a taskmaster, but one guy hand-cutting 20 greens is a bit tough!!!! 🤣

Ha! That was a test to see a) if anyone was reading, and b) if they could spot the deliberate error. You passed, Chris, on both counts!

What a delightful, thoughtful and most enjoyable read. Love the dedication and detail. A beautiful ramble with many important points. Oh I wish the members would look after pitch marks. It takes no time at all. Think I once repaired up to 15 at RWGC on one green!

An absolutely beautiful ode to the work you and so many others put into golf courses around the world. Thank you ... and yes ... I'll keep repairing as many pitch marks as I can in the hope that it will indeed help sink my putts.
